2 weeks
so my team and i are leaving for turket in two weeks. I just found out we have a sweet flight plan. We fly from new zealand up to south korea. We get in around dinner time then we have almost 24 hour layover there. the airlines are giving us free hotel rooms too. everyone is really excited to spend almost a full day in Korea plus we do the same thing on the way back. It should be fun. Our original team leader lauren broke her foot so she is not going to be able to come with us but the school leader Ali is taking over Laurens position. Im super stoked for Ali becuase she has lots of expirence. we have a pretty good idea of what our trip is going to look like now too. We just need to hear back from some contacts to see whether or not we will have places to stay.
The snowboarding season is almost over and its beginning to get warmer and warmer. We have another week and a half of lectures. There is a sense of excitment around the base right now. No one can believe that we are leaving so soon. i love you all. hope everything is going great.

last week
I learned a lot last week. Our speaker's name was David Riddell. He is a psychiatrist and has over 20000 hours of experience. He's also one of the wisest people I have ever met. The subject we studied was relationships. David had a lot of good and practical things we can do to evaluate ourselves and our relationships. I'll be able to use a lot of the stuff I learned this week during outreach and for the rest of my life. One idea that opened my eyes and was contrary to what I have heard taught in the church is that submission is not subjugation. It seems in the church today that people take those two words as synonyms.
We found out our outreaches last week too. I am going to Turkey. Our team is going to be traveling around staying in hostels and such. The people we will be sharing the gospel too is basically all the others in the hostels we are staying at or anyone we run into. We are keeping the planning pretty loose. love you guys. hope everything is going well.

more pics from porters

i love porters. in the second picture you can see the ridge we hiked to the top on the mountain. we built a job off a cornice. everyone had tons of fun hucking new tricks. i was trying to learn backside rodeo 540s but wasnt successful. well not yet. porters has been a really cool place to get to know the locals and show them that we are snowboarders but we are also disciples of christ. when we go to mt.hutt we get to invite poeple to a free dinner we put on in Methvan, a city at the base of the mountain. So we have been using snowboarding as a huge ministry. love you guys.

three weeks
Ive been here for three weeks but it feels like three months. I miss everyone at home. cant wait to see you all again. our schedule has been pretty packed so I haven't been able to do many blog posts but Im going to try to update it more often from now on. so hold me accountable.
Week two was crazy. the subject of the lectures was the lordship of Christ. The speaker was Mark Parker, he is amazing. He is so passionate and loves people so much it blows my mind. On the friday of that week we had a 15 hour day of ministry. We were in the lecture room the whole time. We layed things at the cross and confessed and repented of things that we needed to. We also worshiped all throughout the day. We did so much worship that my arms were sore at the end of the day. We ended it with communion. We had a big feast with different types of lollies ( candy), chips, cookies, and things like that. At the end of the week everyone was glad that we had lordship week at the beginning of the school rather the later, when it usually takes place, because it brought everyone closer together as a group.
The topic of this last week was bible worldview. It was very interesting to me. we looked at how different cultures look at the world differently and thus act differently. It made me think a lot. It was perfect timing to start thinking of the world because the week prior was focused more on ourselves. Also we found out the outreach destinations for our DTS.
The outreach destinations are Argentina/Chile. they will be doing snowboarding and surfing ministry, basically what we are doing here. They will be using the skills of sharing Christs love that they are learning right now. The second is China. They will be going to Hong Kong and nanning. One of their main outreaches will be skate ministry. Then there is Turkey. There are two teams going to different places. One team will be in Bursa most of the time. They will be doing college outreach. They are also trying to set up future snowboard outreaches. The plan is to have a snowboard outreach there next year. The other Turkey team is going to be traveling around and sharing the gospel with people they run into. They will be staying in hostels and places like that. The last one is Africa. The team is going to Uganda and Kenya. They will be helps with whatever needs to be done there. Each student had one day to come up with a top three and reasons why. Its a good thing God spoke to me quickly and i knew where i was going to go. My list was 1) Turkey travel team 2) Turkey Bursa 3) Argentina/Chili.
sorry this is a super long post. but like i said I'm going to start posting more often so they wont be as long. I love all you guys.

thanks to everyone
I just wanted to say thanks to the people that have supported me with prayer and finances. I ask that you continue to have me in your prayers while I'm down here. My flight in was good. no holdups. I had a little bit of trouble with customs because I didn't have my return ticket but I made it through. I'm super excited for what God is going to in me and with this team. I can already tell that everyone is here because God wants them here. well that is all. have a wonderful day
P.S. one word is wisdom that I learned the hard way. always wear shoes into the bathroom of the airplane because there is probably peepee on the ground.
